Fun Fall Days!

It's fall and we're busy making wonderful memories with Brin before her little sister is born! Here are some pictures from the past couple months...the pumpkin patch, Emmy's shower, Halloween, and Brinley's first trip to the zoo:)

This year, Brinley was very excited about "punkans," as she calls them.
We escaped the 100 degree Phoenix "fall weather" and headed up to Heber
the second weekend of October. We went to the pumpkin patch in
Snowflake, AZ and picked our own punkans...Brin loved it!

Brin hugging the big "punkan" good-bye:)

Emmy's shower, Oct 22nd, was a Halloween party for all the little ones.
The kids dressed up in their costumes and had lots of fun decorating cookies,
bowling with baby pumpkins, and eating lots of sweets!

Watch out...Brin's behind the wheel and loving every minute!

Halloween- our mini Steeler's cheerleader...Daddy's pride and joy:)

Brin's first successful trick-or-treat experience...and this was probably
our 10th house. She would run up after her cousins but she was so slow that
they would be walking away by the time she made it to the door, so she would just
turn back and run after them empty handed. Daddy had to go up with her so
that she could finally see what she was going up to the door for!

Picking up bones from the neighbor's "graveyard."

Brin says "CHEESE!" Needless to say
that doesn't get us a very good picture!

One of the highlights of our zoo trip...Brin and the giraffe getting aquainted.

Brinley feeding her new friend:)

The petting zoo was a big hit too. She didn't need any time
to loosen up in there...just ran right in and started hugging animals!
(She was pretty sure the deer and goats were dogs,
despite all our efforts to convince her otherwise!)

A brief pause in action, one of only a couple
pictures where she's actually looking at the camera.

Brinley, a Girl on the Go!

Brinley is in perpetual motion, just watching her makes me tired! Being pregnant and chasing a toddler is exhausting to say the least, and I am usually ready for a nap long before her. Here are some pictures of our summer, 2011 (Brin at 14-18 months old)...

14 months old, first swim of the season...
sporting her new suit and hat "Mimi" brought her from PA:)

She loved licking water off that shovel like a lollipop!

15 months old, playing at the splash pad at Westgate.
The water was fun to look at, but she couldn't figure out why it kept shooting up at her.

Waiting for the water...where did it go?!

RUN, it's gonna get you...again!
That fountain surprised her every time!

In Heber for the 4th of July...
there's nothing better than playing in the dog water.

Running back and forth on the porch
provides hours of entertainment too:)

 Relaxing on the porch swing,
notice Brin stealing a swig of Daddy's Pepsi.

Brinley got a new car seat and the box became the best toy in the house!
Daddy cut out a window and door and turned it into a house:)
Brin and cousin Taylor in her "house."

16 months old and VERY independent...
she started refusing to eat if someone else was feeding her.
Unfortunately, she didn't get much when she was feeding herself either!

What a helper...Brinley picking through to find the best pears.
She even taste tested a couple before I could stop her!

17 months old and even MORE independent...
by this point, she wouldn't even let us help her swim.
Thank God for the Dora swim wings, they kept her afloat:)

"Diving" in the pool became the thing to do.
Our girl was FEARLESS which made us terrified!

Lots of days filled with swimming.

She even taught herself to float.
She's our water baby:)

She enjoyed the occasional game of basketball with Daddy.

Most of the time, he let her win...
even helped her dunk on him!

Back up in Heber for Labor Day,
cousin Logan pushing Brin in the swing:)

Proof that she does tire out...just not before the adults!
